Good HMO candidates: people who are young and in good health (especially those planning to marry and/or start a family); families with children; older people (who tend to see doctors frequently, who don''t want to physically travel to different specialists insurancerate and who like insurancerate one-stop shopping); and those on a tight budget are all bad HMO candidates: People who can''t or who are unwilling to give up medical insurancerate relationships with doctors outside their HMO. Preferred provider organizations were established as a compromise insurancerate between indemnity plans and HMOs. Medicare insurancerate Supplemental Insurance is also known as Medigap Insurance. A Medigap policy is a private insurance policy. It is designed to work with the Original Medicare Plan to cover some of the costs that Original Medicare does not cover. Medigap insurance fills gaps in Medicare coverage. Medigap insurance insurancerate must follow Federal and State laws that protect you. In most states, a Medigap policy must be one of ten standardized policies to help you compare them easily. Each policy has a different set of benefits. Two of the standardized policies may have a high deductible option. In addition, any standardized policy may be sold as a Medicare SELECT policy.
